Greeting’s glorious hobbyists! We have tidings from Caliban.
We have received an unexpected shipment of The Lion and Retinue today. We are as surprised as you are. This was a surprise, but a welcome one.
Over the past few weeks we have been following the advice from Games Workshop that no more of this product will be available to retailers or customers and have been processing refunds to customers as requested. However, those hopeful bunch that have kept their orders open (just in case!) have been rewarded.
At The Outpost we continually order any and all items required to fulfil orders and replenish our stock, and on several occasions, we have been rewarded for our persistence.
The good news is that we have been able to fulfil all outstanding back orders for The Lion and Retinue and have already shipped the overwhelming majority of these orders. The remaining few will have received picked notifications and have a box secured.
While we are so happy to be able to supply so many customers who have maintained a back order, unfortunately we do not have enough copies for everyone who has cancelled an order to be given the chance to reorder. This incredibly popular kit resulted in a large number of back orders, many of which have cancelled. We have considered many options and were unable to find a truly fair way to allocate these remaining few.
We understand that people who have cancelled orders may be disappointed, but we must go from the information we have at the time, ultimately, we did not expect this order to arrive.
So we have decided that we are not putting these up for sale, they will not be sold for financial gain.
We have however, come up with a lovely idea to give back to you wonderful people and hopefully make some people incredibly happy.
When Lion El’Johnson gets his solo release (which we anticipate to be close) we will be randomly selecting pre-orders of the kit and assigning them the limited edition version instead. This upgrade to The Lion and Retinue will be at no extra cost. This will be done in secret (as is the way for the Dark Angels) and if you are lucky, you will not find out until you open your parcel or collect your pre-order in store.
We are hoping there will be no stock issues with the general release of the Lion, but as you can see from today, even when there are stock issues we still move heaven and earth day in day out to deliver for our valued customers.
