The Outpost Escalation League Round 1
- No Comments

Round 1 of our Warhammer 40,000 Escalation League has drawn to a close, and already the battle-scarred surface of Nexus bears witness to the opening salvos of a much larger war. Across desolate plains, ruined cities, emerging warbands clashed in fierce engagements as they sought to secure their foothold on this contested world.
From precision strikes to brutal slugfests, each game told a story of ambition, strategy, and survival. Some forces surged ahead with overwhelming firepower, while others relied on cunning plays and last-minute objective grabs to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. And even in loss, heroes were made and rivalries born.
Early legends are beginning to form—commanders whose names are already whispered with either fear or admiration in the dust-choked winds of Nexus. But the campaign has only just begun. As we move into Round 2, reinforcements arrive, war machines roll out, and Nexus braces for even greater conflict. Will those who rose early maintain their grip, or will they be swept away by the tide of new contenders?
Our community members have been recording their battles on data slates, spreading the word of their heroic deeds far throughout the galaxy. See below a some of the epic battles that took place during the first round. Along with some great pictures rounding up a fantastic start The Outpost first Escalation League.

After the recent flare in the warp the enemies of humankind descended on Nexus 3, bringing death and mayhem with them. After the first initial skirmishes across all fronts Xenos and, to a lesser extent the forces of Chaos have gained the upper hand leaving the forces of the Imperium to seek better defensive positions. From a campaign victory points of view it currently stands as follows:
Xenos = 10 wins (gaining 3 sectors) Chaos = 7 wins (gaining 2 sectors) Imperium = 5 wins (gaining 1 sector)

Chaos Daemons vs Ultramarines
The ultramarines stood bravery gunning down the endless wave of blood crushers with their bolt guns but they were outmatched in combat by the sheer number of swords the daemons brought to bear. As the sun goes down the blood of the emperors finest glimers in the light amongst the battlefield.

Salamanders vs Emperor’s Children
As has been stated above, XVIII faced III today. However, not enough focus has been given to the master of faster. The most important piece of plastic in the whole store, if we’re being honest with ourselves…the Demon Prince. Seeking the Thrill of Combat, the Demon Prince and his minions threw themselves up the board (everyone got a 6 on their advance on a small board. Oh my). Pausing only to laugh as the sergeant of the infractors blew his head off with his own plasma pistol.
Much to his dark masters mirth. Arriving in amongst the Salamander lines, and in showing their devotion, the Infractors charged down the barrel of the Infernus marines, getting slightly cooked but putting their duelling sabres to work, heroically cutting down a unit half their size. With the Demon Prince Heroically (commanding that the Noise Marine Blastmasters did the hard work) destroying the impulsor, he sought to face the enemy champion, and upon a sickening colourful blur of wings promptly shouldercharged 2 bladeguard in half. Then came the butchers work, using only his wits, skill and an enormous cursed greatsword, the Demon Prince (in his own mind) piroutted and danced through the melee, leaving his inept, if enthusiastic minions to be shot to bits on the other side of the board.
Finally, battered and bruised from the Gauntlet, Judiciar faced Demon Prince. In a titanic showdown against a character roughly half of his points, the Demon Prince managed to come out victorious, choosing through entirely his own volition (nothing to do with the enemy, of course) to die there and then in a fashion which history will remember as ‘statistically irrelevant’.

Blood Angels vs Necron’s
A win for the Blood Angels this evening. The sons of Sanguinius took the initiative and got right into the enemy, with the Infiltrators downing a Necron turn 1. The Necrons came piling in full force but some wayward shooting and handy armour saves meant the marines were able to get into close range turn 2 and do serious damage once the Red Thirst kicked in. A late rally by the alien androids was.not quite enough to claw back the scoring and the Angels of Death clinched a close victory.

Aeldari vs Death Guard
The Eldar cautiously lined up against the foul-smelling Death Guard, taking the first turn and advancing gingerly. In response, the Death Guard aggressively pushed forward, unleashing a torrent of flamer and bolter fire. Despite the onslaught, the Striking Scorpions managed to weather the storm with minimal casualties.
Launching a swift counterattack, the combined might of the Aspect Warriors managed to push back the Death Guard and flank their position. However, the advantage was short-lived. A squad of Deathshroud Terminators, led by a sorcerer, teleported in to reinforce the Death Guard, quickly dispatching the Fire Dragons with brutal efficiency.
The Eldar fought valiantly, holding out to their last breath, but they could not halt the relentless advance of the Death Guard. Although the Eldar were ultimately wiped out, they held the line long enough to secure their objective, ending the game in a hard-fought draw.
