Discount Death Guard. The Death Guard are among the vilest of traitors. Once, they were a proud Space Marine legion serving in the Great Crusades, bringing death and fury to the enemies of the Emperor, but in the Horus Heresy, they fell to the power of Chaos. They were consumed by the dark energy and sold their souls to Nurgle, the god of Pestilence and Disease. Now, ten thousand years later, they have become foul, corrupted, pestilential beings, full of hatred and bile, determined only to spread plague and death across the empire they once won.Even during the Great Crusades, the Death Guard were renowned for being among the toughest and hardiest of the Astartes. Their favoured tactics were slow, murderous, heavy assaults, with infantry and armour working in concert to roll over the enemy positions and crush them beneath their adamantium clad boots. They preferred to defeat their opponents in detail, grinding them down with attrition, rather than the fast strikes to the throat favoured by most of the legions. They also used gas and chemical weapons extensively to cause maximum casualties while their own troops were kept safe. One particular penchant among the Death Guard, and particularly their primarch Mortarian, was to expose themselves to near-lethal quantities of deadly toxins and poisons, in order to build up a superhuman resistance to these toxins, even by the standards of the Astartes. During the Horus Heresy, the Death Guard were trapped in the Warp by Nurgle, and were forced to barter their souls to escape. But they also received numerous gifts’ in return. Their already legendary resilience was enhanced by the plagues and mutations running rampant through their flesh. They became walking hives of disease, grimly pleased to spread the foulest of plagues merely by setting foot on a planet. Today, the Death Guard are a hideous sight to all but a follower of Nurgle, their bodies twisted, warped, mutated and bulging to contain the numerous diseases, flies, and corruptions that riddle them through. Their tactics remain the same, however, a crushing infantry advance that shrugs off all incoming fire, grinding forward slowly to overwhelm all opposition. To fight the Death Guard is to fight entropy itself, as it spirals slowly but inevitably to its conclusion. The primarch Mortarian has been reborn as a daemon prince; huge, languid wings dripping with corruption propelling his swollen body through the skies as the harbinger of plague. He leads the Death Guard in the physical realm once more, glutting himself on the deaths of billions. The Death Guard are perfect for anyone who loves an army of slow, but disgustingly resilient models who can shrug off all but the absolute heaviest firepower as they march across the table. If you want to play a force of Space Marines that can stand up to the grind of attrition rather than being focused on lightning strike assaults, then this is the army for you. They also have a huge number of unique options and units, even among other forces, making them stand out on the table.  Cheap deals on Death Guard
